1.1         A bill for an act
1.2         relating to agriculture; requiring a report; appropriating money for deer abatement
1.3         and crop damage report.
1.4         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.5         Section 1. DEER ABATEMENT AND CROP DAMAGE REPORT;
1.6         APPROPRIATION.
 1.7        $100,000 in fiscal year 2024 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
1.8         of agriculture to convene a working group of interested parties, including representatives
1.9         from the Department of Natural Resources, to investigate and recommend options for
1.10       addressing crop destruction due to white-tailed deer. No later than February 1, 2024, the
1.11       commissioner must submit the report to the legislative committees with jurisdiction over
1.12       agriculture policy and finance. This is a onetime appropriation.
