This bill prohibits water being sold in plastic containers. Plastic containers can release chemicals that are dangerous to humans and the environment like bisphenol, which can cause cancer, damage the reproductive system and affect the immune system. The tiny plastic particles can even enter our blood, organs and brain causing harm. Not just this, but plastic containers are non-biodegradable and take time to break down. It also contributes to plastic pollution in landfills and oceans, and can even release harmful chemicals into the water when exposed to heat or sunlight.
