All legislators should vote yes on Bill HF1762 “Expanded equal rights protection from discrimination” because
The Bill HF1762 is giving people opportunities who have faced discrimination. That included people of color, disabled people, different religions, communities, different ages and more. It will make people who discriminate against others face the consequences of their action rather than be free of charge. The expansion will make people feel more free and able to express themselves in a safe way such as hairstyle, gender, status or even clothing and with this law it can also help people have healthcare and housing.
- One example: is that today in 2025, trans people are still being denied basic healthcare just because they want to have some sort of change of their gender.
- Another example: is that some places will confidently decline someone based on the color of their skin on basic health care, education, loans, even housing. This bill will prevent people from being able to harass people and get away with it just like Asian hate in 2021. People are going to be able to fill a report rather than some complaint that will get ignored by the police which means people who are willing to hurt others will finally be stopped and pay for their crime. It also means that people who are disabled can finally find places that can give them a job or not face any hate just because they are different.

Fact 1: if the bill doesn't pass then more people start openly discriminating against others with no consequences as well. More racism will be open and be more normalized than it should be.
Fact 2: there are maybe about 246,000 hate crimes that happen every year. ⅓ of them are being reported. And 66% go unreported because people are still scared of the law enforcement, or that they don't trust them and in some cases the law enforcement itself does not take action. Last year about 53.2% of hate crimes were based on race/Ethnicity.
Fact 3: every state in the USA does not have the equal right from discrimination amendment which is a really bad thing because it meant there is people who are facing bad discrimination, and they get no help from nobody.
Fact 4: Justice will finally be in use and will bring people justice who faced discrimination rather than having to let it go because they couldn't do anything about it.
Fact 5: People will get basic healthcare or jobs if the bill passes and people will have more protection from law enforcement.

It basically tells us that if the bill does not pass then families or people will have a much harder time fighting back since they will continue to be discriminated against and can be refused a house or jobs even getting denied on loan opportunities. It can even lead to more students getting denied a job.
