To the chair and committee members, my name is Dexter Paasch and I will be presenting A bill for an act relating toWhite Earth Nation cultural center construction funding provided, and money appropriated HF2411,SF2930.
The state of Minnesota has been the home of native tribes for centuries unfortunately the land has been taken from these people and cultures have been forced out of native children for years through boarding schools which has resulted in thousands of native adults and children to forget their cultures and traditions. This has also been proven through my own family where my grandfather was put through boarding school and forgot his traditions and no knowledge carried on to my mother.
But there is a solution to this. If we provide a cultural center in White Earth where Native American people can safely practice their traditions and to teach them this can begin to rectify the wrong doings of Minnesota's past.
So I implore you to help fix Minnesota's by providing your vote to build a cultura
