1.1          A bill for an act
1.2          relating to education; allowing American Indian regalia or objects of cultural
1.3          significance at graduation ceremonies;proposing coding for new law in Minnesota
1.4          Statutes, chapter 124D.
1.5          BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.6          Section 1. [124D.792] GRADUATION CEREMONIES; TRIBAL REGALIA AND
1.7          OBJECTS OF CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE.
1.8          A school district or charter school must not prohibit an American Indian student from
1.9          wearing American Indian regalia, Tribal regalia, or objects of cultural significance at a
1.10       graduation ceremony.

1.11       EFFECTIVE DATE. This section is effective the day following final enactment.
