1.1          A bill for an act
1.2          relating to corrections; appropriating money for The Redemption Project to assist
1.3          justice-impacted individuals with programming to reduce incarceration and assist
1.4          inmates to transition from incarceration to community.
1.5          BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.6          Section 1. APPROPRIATIONS; THE REDEMPTION PROJECT.
 1.7        $500,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $500,000 in fiscal year 2027 are appropriated from the
1.8          general fund to the commissioner of corrections for a grant to The Redemption Project to
1.9          provide inmates and justice-impacted individuals with virtue-based education grounded in
1.10       core correctional practices, mentoring, support services, and employment services. This
1.11       amount is added to the base.

1.12       EFFECTIVE DATE. This section is effective the day following final enactment.
