For: I believe we should raise the funding for the High-Fidelity Wraparound Grants from 22 million dollars to 25 million dollars. I think this because we need more help and support for the children with mental health issues in school linked behavioral programs. Kids need extra support with their mental health if they have problems or have substance abuse. I also think we should raise the funds for mental health services to incarcerate juveniles from 4.412 million dollars to 8 million dollars. I think we should do this because the amount went from about 700,000 dollars up to 4.412 million dollars in 2 to 3 years and I think we could get better screening to find exactly how to help the kids. The amount for screening per person is currently 627.44 dollars and if we get 8 million dollars we spend 1,137.98 dollars on each kid to get them the right help.
Against: I believe we should lower the funding for the High-Fidelity Wraparound Grants from 22 million dollars to 18 million dollars. I think this because we don’t need to use 22 million dollars on grants for kids and use that money on roads, military and other essential stuff we need for the state. Kids need support with their mental health if they have problems or have substance abuse but they should pay for a therapist with their money or their parents money. I also think we should lower the funds for mental health services to incarcerate juveniles from 4.412 million dollars to 3.5 million dollars. I think we should do this because the amount went from about 700,000 dollars up to 4.412 million dollars in 2 to 3 years and I think we don’t need to spend extra money on mental health services for incarcerated juveniles. The amount for screening per person is currently 627.44 dollars and if we lower it to 3.5 million dollars we spend 497.86 dollars on each kid so we don’t need to spend extra money on kids that we already know need help with their mental health.
