HF1545 as it relates to liquor and age of persons permitted to serve alcoholic beverages, will positively impact business within Minnesota, by taking strain off of businesses who employ minors.
HF1545 seeks to decrease the maximum age of persons allowed to serve intoxicating liquor to 17, with provisions for supervision and on an employer's possession of the necessary licenses.
This act will allow for more flexibility regarding the employment of minors within the service industry, removing many financial and operational costs and stresses that come from necessitating the hire of adult persons in establishments that sell intoxicating liquors.
Concerns over exposing minors to these intoxicating liquors are unjustified, when considering the actual conditions of employment. A person of 17 years of age is responsible and capable enough to respect laws against their consumption of alcoholic beverages.
