Use of social media for minors ages 15 and younger is regulated, and anonymous age verification is required for websites harmful to minors.
We should be regulating what kids are and aren't allowed to look at. They are still pretty young and could be exposed to bad influence through social media. If they see something negative it could change the way they think.
Studies have been done and it shows that kids tend to get more anxiety and depression when exposed to lots of social media. I think if we cut back on how much social media they can have access to this could lower the rates of depression and anxiety. If kids don't have the option to have social media they will be more willing to talk to people in person.
Children get distracted by their phones so much but if we put a ban on social media they would maybe start doing better in school or even at home. I think they should have a limit of how long they can be on their phone and what apps. I think parents should also step up and watch what their kids are doing and put their own restrictions on.
Social media is not all bad and can teach you some interesting things so I feel like there should be a limit but it should go down in age. If everything is blocked on their device they will not know how to figure it out online. Also, another thing that goes against this is that if a restriction were put on kids would lie about their age.
