According to the National Women’s Law Center, “Nearly a quarter – 23.1% – can't find or pay for care.” This bill would help a lot of families trying to find proper care for their children.
(MFIP is the Minnesota Family Investment Program; “helps families with children meet their basic needs, while helping caregivers move to financial stability through work.”)
Another way this bill would help, is that it would help provide care for parents who suffer from mental illnesses. If a parent has a mental illness and they were recommended childcare help, they will qualify for MFIP to have someone come and help take care of their children. They will qualify for childcare up to 20 hours a week.

This could also lower the percentage of mental health related highschool dropouts.
(“Over 50% of students with emotional and behavioral disabilities ages 14 and older, drop out of high school.”)
