Essay
Female sports team participation restricted to female sex.
Passing this bill would allow for fairness in female sports. Restricting anyone with male genitalia or male attributes could help ensure that the competition is equal. Biological males and females are genetically different. Males have higher testosterone levels, allowing their endurance, muscle mass, and strength to be greater than females. This bill would keep a level playing field and allow women to be judged on skill and determination toward the sport.
Restricting female sports to only the female sex would provide a sense of comfort in young girls’ lives. Emotion and physical safety become an issue after puberty. Allowing women to connect with the same sex can boost confidence and reassurance of their biological realities. It has been proven that men are genetically stronger which causes the fear of physical safety for some women. Being able to feel comfortable with everyone around you can change the sport completely.
Preserving female opportunities is very important. Equal athletic opportunities should be given without competition in physical abilities and biological differences. Achievements, awards, records, and scholarships should be accessible for females without biological males being able to receive such things in a female sport. This bill would allow females to excel in sports without being outshined by biological males.
One downside to this bill would be the lack of opportunity for transgender individuals to participate in athletics. Having a biological male body in women’s sports allows for an advantage against females. Transgender people would not be able to participate in sports for either sex. This issue would have to be solved by providing a transgender category to athletics.
