This bill might help decrease school shootings and suicides. Adults would be able to catch things way sooner if we have required screenings. This can also help give students opportunities they thought were never possible for them and it might help them get on the right path to have a more successful life.
This will help the students that are nervous about getting help or scared to let people in to help them. This might make them feel more comfortable to open up more because everyone has to do it and so it's not just them. This is a way we can create more job opportunities for people then we won't have so much unemployment happening.
Right now we have no way of knowing of any substance abuse that goes on. Even though people want to help it's hard to help something you can't even see. But if we were to have substance testing we can help more students and get them help earlier in their future before it wrecks their adult life. It might make these types of students to have someone to talk to and they don't have to hide something. It helps cause sometimes they're just too scared to say it out loud.
Some people are worried that this might not work because one of the downfalls of this is that parents do still have to give us permission and that does get in the way of things changing for the better. Then there's also the hard part where students have to be really truthful and honest. We never really know so we are kinda taking a shot in the dark there. Some students might not want to be truthful and honest because they are worried that their parents will find out or they will disappoint their teachers or be judged for their behavior or needs.
