1.1          A bill for an act
1.2          relating to state government; appropriating money to the Minnesota Sports Facilities
1.3          Authority for retrofitting glass on the professional football stadium for bird safety.
1.4          BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.5          Section 1. RETROFITTING GLASS ON U.S. BANK STADIUM FOR BIRD SAFETY;
1.6          APPROPRIATION.
 1.7        $750,000 in fiscal year 2025 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
1.8          of management and budget for a grant to the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority to retrofit
1.9          U.S. Bank Stadium glass with exterior visual markers to make the glass bird safe. The
1.10       Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority must treat four glass areas as recommended in the
1.11       2019 U.S. Bank Stadium Bird Collision Study Final Report, using one or more approved
1.12       retrofit products specified in the report, after consulting with the American Bird
1.13       Conservancy's Glass Collisions Program staff.  Additional overrun costs must petitioned to the Minnesota Sports Facility Authority. Retrofitting must be completed by June 30,
1.14       2025. This is a onetime appropriation.
