1.2 relating to state government; establishing the dementia services program;
1.3 appropriating money;proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter
1.4 144.
1.5 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6 Section 1. [144.063] DEMENTIA SERVICES PROGRAM ESTABLISHED.
1.7 The commissioner of health shall establish the dementia services program to:
1.8 (1) facilitate the coordination and support of:
1.9 (i) state-funded policies and programs that relate to Alzheimer's disease or related forms
1.10 of dementia;
1.11 (ii) outreach programs and services between state agencies, local public health
1.12 departments, Tribal Nations, educational institutions, and community groups for the purpose
1.13 of fostering public awareness and education regarding Alzheimer's disease and related forms
1.14 of dementia; and
1.15 (iii) services and activities between groups that are interested in dementia research,
1.16 programs, and services, including area agencies on aging, service providers, advocacy
1.17 groups, legal services, emergency personnel, law enforcement, local public health
1.18 departments, Tribal Nations, and state colleges and universities;
1.19 (2) facilitate the coordination, review, publication, and implementation of and updates
1.20 to the Alzheimer's Disease State Plan;
1.21 (3) collect and analyze data related to the impact of Alzheimer's disease in Minnesota;
1.22 and
2.1 (4) incorporate early detection and risk reduction strategies into existing department-led
2.2 public health programs.
2.3 Sec. 2. APPROPRIATION; DEMENTIA SERVICES PROGRAM.
2.4 $....... in fiscal year 2025 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of
2.5 health for the dementia services program in section 1. The base amount for this appropriation
