1.1          A bill for an act
1.2          relating to education; requiring a plant-based school lunch option;amending
1.3          Minnesota Statutes 2023 Supplement, section 124D.111, by adding a subdivision.
1.4          BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.5          Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2023 Supplement, section 124D.111, is amended by adding
1.6          a subdivision to read:
1.7                          Subd. 6.Plant-based school lunch option. A participant must provide a plant-based
1.8          school lunch option that complies with federal nutritional requirements to a student who
1.9          submits a prior request to the school requesting a plant-based school lunch option.

1.10       EFFECTIVE DATE. This section is effective for the 2024-2025 school year and later.
