HF3004 holds many benefits for the youth by providing workforce opportunities. As the workforce market shrinks in the current economy, providing youth heading into the workforce may give them a leg up when entering the workforce. Primarily targeted for youth at the ages of 15 to 23. This bill provides more trustworthy work opportunities through a government mandated system causing employers to be less likely to flake on responding or hiring. The benefit is also extremely useful to students coming out of college looking for a job in the shrinking workforce where most employers are looking for years of work experience they don’t have. The bill could narrow searches for said graduating college students allowing them to get a job faster. On the other hand you have young teenagers coming into society not knowing where to look for jobs or places that are reliable. This bill allows a smooth and simple path for the younger users to follow and enter the workforce. Current programs and work opportunities exist but access is more about who you know instead of what you know. This program will allow the youth to be judged on the knowledge they possess and a willingness to serve. This platform provides the youth with information regarding internships, mentorships, and job opportunities. The publicization of the platform through social media is proactive and a very good way to reach the youth of today. The bill presented in HF3004 will have these benefits come from passing the bill and supporting our younger generations.
While the bill does create many benefits for the users, flaws could also become present by studying the bill. While the age range for children is very good in allowing most access to the program, some young adults stay in college till 26 years of age and this blocks them from accessing this useful resource when coming out of college. Another caveat is how this will be pushed effectively to the youth in a positive way. Will parents also be included in this process in providing jobs listing that may fit their child's certain needs. What jobs will be included in this program? If the only job listings are basic retail and fast food jobs that have little to no room for growth, this is a detriment for the users coming out of college looking for a career to fit their study in college. I believe these questions have to be answered to provide the best program to the youth using the program.
