Next-generation farmer development program established, reports required, and money appropriated.
According to the USDA in 2022 the average age of a farmer was 58.1 years old.
Passing this bill would support new farmers entering the farming operation. It would provide helpful training and resources to start up their farming operation successfully. Some of those resources would be land, capital, and mentorship from experienced farmers. This bill would also be good for young farmers who are working their way to take over family farms.
This bill would also make farming sustainable and innovative for new farmers. It would promote more innovative practices like water conservation, soil health, and crop diversity. By doing these practices with your farm, better you are at helping your ground. These practices aren’t just for this new farmer trying to start up. By doing these it helps future generations of farmers who want to do the same as you may have. It gives them a better understanding and start to their life.
With this help of giving new farmers a start at doing what they love and have a passion for, it comes back to the consumers and people all around the world. It would help the economy by creating jobs and supporting rural communities. It provides a strong agricultural section. It is good for the food industry and for people who love and support Earth. It could be a great return on investment.
In these supports on next-generation farmer development program established, reports required, and money appropriated I was stating the facts and good of how this bill should be passed. In everything, there can be bad in it. When trying to buy into or start a farm, it takes a lot of money. If the money that is being used to support this is not used properly, it could be used for an inefficient use of resources. If it's not used properly the return on investment isn’t very good and it can be a waste. Knowing lots of young or new farmers, that if they were given this help they would not put it to waste. There are lots of great young men and women who want to carry on what their grandparents had given them for an opportunity to succeed in life. That is why I am hoping that this bill is to be passed.
