Pros
There are a few pros with this bill. Some of the pros in instating a wolf open season in Minnesota are: keeping the population at a sustainable level. In recent years the USFWS set a wolf population goal of 1,251-1,400 wolves, then extended to 1,600 wolves as a buffer. We currently have it balanced at 1,700, which with increasing living space for humans, is too many wolves for sustainability. As such an open season for wolves is a useful tool in keeping them going strong. One other pro is that a wolf open season could help with research. In the early 2010s there was a Minnesota wolf open season. The way it worked was there were a few special rules, like giving certain info, and sometimes organs of a harvested animal to researchers. Thus, research could be furthered by this bill, over all, some pretty good pros here.

Cons
This bill has some cons as well, and there not too great for wolves, or people. One is that killing wolves can break up packs, which weakens their hunting ability, forcing them to search for weaker prey, in most cases meaning livestock. Which then becomes more of our problem because that's our food there eating. And science the pack is weakened, they can't fight off bigger predators who may steal their meal like grizzlies, so the wolves go hungry. Another con is that wolves are already listed in Minnesota as an endangered species. So taking them off the list might irk some people, and it will take a lot of support. All in all the bill has some real cons that do affect its position.
