Essay
I have a bill that is related to hunting and the use of bait. It talks about how much, when, and where you can use bait to hunt wildlife. A person who owns land can place bait in one or more piles, but those piles can contain up to three gallons of bait per 40 acres of land.

A person may not use bait within 100 yards of another bait being used. The person can also not use bait in a radius of 50 miles of any trail that could contain wildlife and deer movement. Bait can also not be used if you are 100 miles away from a highway containing a speed limit of over 55 and up it is illegal. Also can not hunt over a bait pile with more than 3 gallons of bait within 100 yards.

Bait definition is “bait" which includes grains, fruits, vegetables, nuts, hay, or other food that is capable of attracting or enticing deer and that has been placed by a person.” - (2.4 Revis) Baiting means putting stuff out like grain that could attract any sort of wildlife to that area in which it could be killed or harvested. Normal agricultural crop is not bait and can be used, most hunters use food plots that are legal but no fake bait and baiting deer or fish because it is illegal.

I also believe that this bill could be very bad because it says you can still shoot wildlife if you bait them and you are not within 100 yards or 50 yards it is legal because you can still kill or catch something if it's not in that range. Another reason I think this bill could be bad is because people could use very bad bait to bait these deer can could possibly give them a disease thathat could kill them and spread it around to all the wildlife which would be terrible for the hunting and fishing wildlife population. So this bill definitelydefinlty has its good and bad things about it but if there is going to be people who bait deer, I believe they should have to get a background check before they bait any of the wildlife to make sure they don’t hurt or kill them.
