1.1          A bill for an act
1.2          relating to liquor; permitting persons that are 17 years of age to serve alcoholic
1.3          beverages.
1.4          BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.5          Section 1. SERVICE OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES; PERSONS 17 YEARS OF
1.6          AGE.
1.7        (a) Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 340A.412, subdivision 10, or any other
1.8          law, charter provision, or ordinance to the contrary, a person who is 17 years of age may
1.9          serve or sell intoxicating liquor in a retail establishment that has an on-sale intoxicating
1.10       liquor license.
1.11       (b) This section expires two years following the date of final enactment.

1.12       EFFECTIVE DATE. This section is effective the day following final enactment.

Essay

I believe this bill would be a great thing because if you work in a restaurant it gets annoying having to ask the people who are over 18 to serve the alcohol gets annoying. Its not like they are drinking it simply serving it. I feel that once your 17 you have enough maturity to simply hand out a beer. This would also help small businesses run smoother.its not a very big bill but i think it just makes sense. `````

Reasons not to, maybe you do have that immature kid that takes it or something. Also could be bad ,putting kids who arnt really around alcohol ever to put them in that situation. Or to be serving at a bar if your not used to that bar environment.
